I've just registered - I'm Jo, I'm 37 and live in Leeds. I've just signed up for an OU astronomy course.
I know very little but am enthusiastic, friendly and don't mind being outside in the freezing cold. I've loved looking at the stars and learning about them since I was little but never studied it formally. So this is a first!
I guess that's it for now! Except that I really want to use this smiley (no particular reason, just makes me giggle):

Hey i'm going to do astronomy and physics with OU, haven't been back into studying and education since college eek. It took me a few years to decide what i wanted to do.

Hellooo people I recognise! Great idea for a site. I find the astronomy forums I have had a look at before a bit scary and highbrow but this seems perfect for novices and experienced astronomers alike.
