Question about the ISS Empty
PostSubject: Question about the ISS   Question about the ISS EmptyFri Aug 26, 2011 6:36 pm

I was looking at the Wikipedia article and I noticed something odd about the station's insignia. It seems to have a set of solar pannels that don't appear on any of the existing station components, nor does it appear on any of the future scheduled components.

Was this component canceled or something?

NASA Goddard: "Completed" ISS

I bet it was an early panel made obsolete.

Edit: But I reviewed construction phases and never saw a structure exactly like it. Now I lean to canceled -- or something over the horizon.

According to this old diagram I've had on my computer for years, it's called the "Science Power Platform" and was meant to be built by Russia.
