Hello my interst in astronomy was ignited when i was 11 and listened to the Apollo 11 landing on my radio. We did not have the luxury of a T.V.
The poster had pride of place in my bedroom next to the posters of Olivia Newton John and easyrider.
Over the years I enjoyed the night sky with a set of binoculars and when we were on holiday abroad with our families-my wifes sisters and their husbands and children I used to go "moon bathing"as I used to call it to my two young nephews-showing them the night sky.
After sufering a breakdown a few years ago I decided to join an astronomical society and joined the S.A.S (Sunderland astronomical soiciety-whose motto is who stares wins)
I currently own a 20 year old C8 and a set of Bresser 10x50 Bins and have this year attended my first 2 star parties at Kielder and most recently at Dalby.
