Hi guys and gals

Thought I would introduce myself. My name is Andy, and I'm currently looknig to convert my 8" Skywatcher OTA into a truss type dob. I originally bought it 2 yrs ago on an EQ5 mount and later upgraded it with the Skyscan upgrade kit, but due to serious lack of funds at the moment I have sadly had to part with my mount and Skyscan. So I thought to myself, I know, I'll convert it into a Dob.

I have built myself a small 4.5" dob some yrs back using a Meade mirror set purchased from Surplus Shed, and it served me very well indeed. Was a vast improvement over the 60mm Tasco refractor that I was given, I can tell you.

So here I am. Searching the net once again, and looking at peoples designs for ideas and inspiration. Any advice you guys can give me will be truely appreciated.

Thanks

Andy
